สิ่งสำคัญที่ต้องคำนึงถึงเมื่อถ่ายภาพสถาปัตยกรรม หรือการถ่ายภาพที่มีอาคารเป็นองค์ประกอบ คือ เส้นตั้ง หรือเส้นแนวดิ่ง เช่น ขอบของอาคาร ขอบประตู หรือหน้าต่าง ควรจะตั้งตรงขนานกับขอบภาพ เพราะถ้าถ่ายอาคารแล้วเส้นล้ม หรือเส้นตั้งไม่ตรงขนานกับขอบภาพ จะทำให้ภาพที่ออกมาผิดเพี้ยนไปจากความเป็นจริงที่ตามองเห็น และดูไม่เป็นมืออาชีพ

การใช้ Function ‘Level’ เป็นระดับน้ำที่ช่วยในการตั้งกล้อง โดยจะแสดงระดับน้ำบนจอแสดงผล เราสามารถอ้างอิงได้จากเส้นขอบอาคาร และปรับระดับกล้องให้ระดับน้ำอยู่ตรงกลางทั้งแนวตั้ง และแนวนอน เพื่อให้เราตั้งกล้องได้ตรงกับระนาบพื้น ไม่กดหน้ากล้องลงต่ำ หรือเงยกล้อง ทำให้ภาพที่ออกมาดูมีความเป็นมืออาชีพได้ในทันที

One of the most important considerations in architectural photography or any image that includes buildings is the accuracy of vertical lines, such as the edges of walls, doors, or windows. These vertical lines should appear parallel to the edges of the frame. If the verticals are tilted or skewed, the final image will appear distorted and unrealistic distracting from the subject and lacking a professional finish.

To avoid this, photographers can use the camera’s ‘Level’ function, which acts like a built-in spirit level. This feature displays a virtual leveling guide on the screen, helping you align the camera properly.

By referencing visible building edges and adjusting the camera so the level indicators are centered on both the horizontal and vertical axes, you can ensure the camera is perfectly aligned with the ground neither tilted downward nor angled upward. This simple adjustment can significantly improve the accuracy and professionalism of your architectural shots.
