Interval Recording

การถ่ายวิดีโอ Time-Lapse เป็นเทคนิคที่ช่วยเร่งความเร็วของการบันทึกเหตุการณ์ที่ใช้เวลานาน โดยการตั้งกล้องถ่ายภาพในมุมเดียวกันหลาย ๆ ภาพแล้วนำมาต่อกันเป็นวิดีโอ เช่น การถ่ายช่วงเวลาพระอาทิตย์ตกจนถึงเวลากลางคืน ที่ปกติแล้วอาจจะใช้เวลาถ่ายจริงประมาณ 30-60 นาที การถ่าย Timelapse จะช่วยลดระยะเวลาให้เหลือไม่กี่วินาที ด้วยการบันทึกเป็นภาพนิ่งทุก ๆ 10 วินาที หรือตามเวลาที่ตั้งค่าไว้

สำหรับการตั้งค่ากล้อง Canon R5 C เพื่อให้ได้วิดีโอ Timelapse นั้น จะต้องใช้ Function ‘Interval Recording’ สามารถตั้งเวลาในการถ่าย 1 ภาพ ได้ตั้งแต่ 10 วินาที ไปจนถึง 1 นาที เช่น ถ้าเราตั้งค่า Interval Recording ไว้ที่ 1 นาที ตัวกล้องจะทำการบันทึกภาพนิ่ง 1 ภาพ ในทุก ๆ 1 นาที แปลว่าถ้าเราตั้งกล้องถ่ายไว้ 60 นาที จะได้ภาพนิ่งทั้งหมด 60 ภาพ

นอกเหนือจากกล้องแล้ว ยังมีอีกหนึ่งอุปกรณ์ที่สำคัญของการถ่าย Time-Lapse ได้แก่ ขาตั้งกล้อง เนื่องจากเราจำเป็นต้องตั้งกล้องทิ้งไว้เป็นเวลานาน และกำหนดให้ภาพอยู่ในมุมเดิม จึงจำเป็นต้องใช้ขาตั้งกล้องเป็นตัวช่วยในการถ่าย Timelapse ให้ได้คุณภาพดียิ่งขึ้น

Time-lapse videography is a technique that condenses long-duration events into short, visually engaging sequences. It involves capturing a series of still images from the same angle over time, then stitching them together into a video. For example, recording a sunset into nightfall might take 30–60 minutes in real-time, but with time-lapse, that can be compressed into just a few seconds by capturing one image every 10 seconds, or based on a preset interval.

To shoot time-lapse with the Canon EOS R5 C, you can use the ‘Interval Recording’ function. This allows you to set the camera to take a still image at regular intervals ranging from every 10 seconds up to once per minute.
For example, if you set the interval to 1 minute, the camera will capture 1 photo every minute. So, over a 60-minute session, you’ll end up with 60 still images, ready to be compiled into a time-lapse video.

Beyond the camera settings, one essential accessory for time-lapse shooting is a tripod. Because the camera needs to stay completely still for an extended period of time, using a sturdy tripod ensures that the framing remains consistent resulting in a smoother and more professional-quality time-lapse.
