VR Camera Rig Setup

ในการถ่ายทำหนังสั้น VR เราเลือกใช้กล้อง Canon EOS R5C ร่วมกับเลนส์ VR RF5.2mm f/2.8L Dual Fisheye ด้วยช่วงเลนส์ที่กว้างมากเลยต้องระวังเป็นพิเศษ เพราะมีโอกาสสูงที่ขาตั้งกล้องหรืออุปกรณ์ต่างๆ จะหลุดเข้ามาในเฟรมโดยที่เราไม่รู้ตัว เพื่อเลี่ยงปัญหานี้เราจึงใช้อุปกรณ์เสริม Gimbal Stabilizers แทนการใช้ขาตั้งกล้อง โดยถือถ่ายแบบ handheld แทน ทำให้สามารถเคลื่อนกล้องได้อิสระ ภาพที่ได้ก็จะสมจริงและสมูทมากขึ้น

For our VR short film production, we chose to shoot with the Canon EOS R5C camera paired with the RF5.2mm f/2.8L Dual Fisheye VR lens. Because of the lens’s ultra-wide field of view, we had to be extra cautious there’s a high chance that tripods or other gear might accidentally appear in the frame without us noticing.

To avoid this issue, we replaced the tripod setup with a handheld shooting approach using a gimbal stabilizer. This not only eliminated unwanted equipment from the shot but also allowed for more dynamic and free movement. The result? A smoother and more immersive viewing experience that feels even closer to reality.
