เลนส์ RF 100-300mm f/2.8L IS USM เป็นเลนส์ Telephoto ที่ถูกพัฒนามาเพื่อใช้งานกับกล้อง EOS R Series และยังมีจุดเด่นอยู่ที่รูรับแสงกว้างถึง f/2.8 ที่ไม่ใช่แค่ได้ Bokeh ที่ชัดขึ้นเท่านั้นแต่ยังช่วยให้ใช้ Speed Shutter ได้สูงขึ้นสอดคล้องกับการทำงานของระบบกันสั่น (Image Stabilizer) รวมไปถึงค่ารูรับแสงคงที่แม้ว่าจะซูมถึงระยะ 300mm ทำให้ควบคุม Speed Shutter ได้ง่ายตลอดระยะการซูมเพื่อให้ได้ภาพที่คมชัด

The RF 100–300mm f/2.8L IS USM lens is a professional telephoto zoom designed for Canon’s EOS R Series. One of its standout features is the constant f/2.8 aperture, which not only delivers beautifully shallow depth of field and enhanced bokeh, but also allows for faster shutter speeds a perfect match for the built-in Image Stabilizer (IS) system.

โหมดการป้องกันภาพสั่นไหว (IS Modes) สามารถปรับได้จากปุ่มบนตัวเลนส์ โดยจะมีอยู่ 3 โหมด ได้แก่ 

IS 1 สำหรับถ่ายภาพสิ่งที่อยู่นิ่ง 

IS 2 สำหรับการแพนกล้อง

IS 3 สำหรับการถ่ายภาพสิ่งที่มีการเคลื่อนไหวไม่แน่นอน

ซึ่งระบบ IS นี้ทำงานร่วมกับกล้องที่มีระบบ IS ในตัวจะยิ่งเพิ่มขีดความสามารถของการป้องกันภาพสั่นไหวได้สูงสุดถึง 6 Stops 

นอกจากนี้ Canon ยังได้นำเทคโนโลยีต่าง ๆ ที่พัฒนามาอย่างต่อเนื่องมาใช้กับการผลิตชิ้นเลนส์ภายในของเลนส์ตัวนี้ที่ให้คุณสมบัติในการลดแสงแฟลร์ ลดความคลาดเคลื่อนของสี และเพิ่มความคมชัดเพื่อคุณภาพที่ดีของภาพที่ออกมาในระดับมืออาชีพ
