Digital IS

การมี Movement ของกล้องในรูปแบบต่าง ๆ เป็นเทคนิคที่ช่วยให้วิดีโอมีความน่าสนใจ และบอกเล่าเรื่องราวได้ชัดเจนขึ้น แต่ในกรณีที่ต้อง Handheld หรือการถือกล้องแทนการใช้ขาตั้งกล้องเพื่อความคล่องตัว มักจะทำให้วิดีโอที่ออกมาเกิดการสั่นมากเกินไป และไม่ Stable เหมือนกับการใช้ขาตั้งกล้อง

เป็นเหตุผลให้เกิดการพัฒนาระบบกันสั่นขึ้นมา ภายในกล้อง Canon EOS R5 C มีระบบ Digital IS ซึ่ง IS ย่อมาจากคำว่า Image Stabilizer หรือระบบป้องกันการสั่นไหวของกล้อง และเป็นเทคโนโลยีที่ทาง Canon พัฒนาขึ้นมาตลอดหลายปีที่ผ่านมา โดยภายในกล้อง Canon EOS R5 C จะเป็นระบบกันสั่นแบบ 5-Axis In-Body Image Stabilizer หรือระบบกันสั่น 5 แกนที่ช่วยลดการสั่นไหวของตัวกล้องได้เป็นอย่างดี และระบบกันสั่นนี้จะมีประสิทธิภาพมากขึ้นเมื่อใช้ควบคู่กับเลนส์ Canon ที่มีระบบ IS ในตัว หรือสังเกตได้จากรหัสต่อท้ายชื่อเลนส์จะมีตัวอักษร IS อยู่ในชื่อรุ่นของเลนส์ ยกตัวอย่างเช่น Canon RF 10-20mm f/4L IS STM เป็นต้น

Using various types of camera movement is a powerful technique to enhance storytelling and make a video more engaging. However, when shooting handheld as opposed to using a tripod there’s a higher risk of unwanted shake, which can result in unstable footage.

To address this issue, camera stabilization systems have been developed. The Canon EOS R5 C features Digital IS (Image Stabilization) Canon’s proprietary technology that helps reduce camera shake. Specifically, this camera offers a 5-Axis In-Body Image Stabilizer, which provides exceptional stabilization by compensating for motion along five different axes.

This stabilization becomes even more effective when paired with Canon lenses that have built-in IS. You can easily identify these lenses by the “IS” designation in their names for example, the Canon RF 10-20mm f/4L IS STM.

By combining Digital IS with an IS-equipped lens, the system can significantly reduce motion blur and produce smoother, more cinematic footage, even in handheld or dynamic shooting scenarios especially important for immersive VR video.
