บรรยากาศของเมืองยามค่ำคืน การดำเนินชีวิตของผู้คน และเสน่ห์ที่เกิดจากการผสานวัฒนธรรมไทยและญี่ปุ่น เป็นแรงบันดาลใจให้เราเลือกย่าน “พร้อมพงษ์” เป็นฉากหลังของหนังสั้นเรื่องนี้

ประเทศไทยและประเทศญี่ปุ่นมีสัมพันธ์อันดีต่อกันตั้งแต่ศตวรรษที่ 60 และมีการตั้งสถานทูตญี่ปุ่นบริเวณพร้อมพงษ์เป็นเวลาหลายสิบปี ทำให้คนญี่ปุ่นที่เดินทางมาประเทศไทยพักอาศัยอยู่ในย่านนี้เพื่อความสะดวกในการทำธุรกรรม เป็นเหตุให้พร้อมพงษ์เป็นย่านที่มีคนญี่ปุ่นอาศัยอยู่หนาแน่น ก่อนที่สถานทูตจะถูกย้ายไปยังถนนวิทยุในปี พ.ศ. 2553

เมื่อเขตเศรษฐกิจอย่าง สีลม-สาทร ขยายตัว ย่านพร้อมพงษ์ที่อยู่ถัดออกมาจึงถูกพัฒนาเป็นย่านเศรษฐกิจสำคัญอีกแห่งในกรุงเทพฯ มีการสร้างอาคารสำนักงาน ห้างสรรพสินค้า ตึกสูงและที่อยู่อาศัย เป็นจำนวนมาก ทำให้ย่านนี้มีความหลากหลายทั้งในเชิงวัฒนธรรมการอยู่ร่วมกันของคนไทยและคนญี่ปุ่น และในเชิงสถาปัตยกรรมที่มีทั้งตึกสูง ตึกแถว และบ้านพักอาศัย

The nighttime atmosphere of the city, the way people live, and the charm born from the fusion of Thai and Japanese cultures inspired us to choose the “Phrom Phong” neighborhood as the backdrop for this short film.

Thailand and Japan have maintained good relations since the 1960s, with the Japanese Embassy located in the Phrom Phong area for several decades. This made the neighborhood a convenient place for Japanese residents who moved to Thailand, as it facilitated their transactions. As a result, Phrom Phong became a densely populated Japanese community before the embassy was relocated to Witthayu Road in 2010.

As economic districts like Silom-Sathorn expanded, Phrom Phong, located just beyond, developed into another major business district in Bangkok. The area saw the construction of office buildings, shopping malls, high-rise buildings, and residential complexes. This made the neighborhood diverse in both cultural aspects, with Thai and Japanese people living together, and architectural elements, featuring high-rises, shophouses, and residential homes.
