False Color

ในสมัยก่อนการถ่ายภาพจากกล้องฟิล์มจะต้องใช้เครื่องวัดแสงในการวัดแสงเพื่อกำหนดค่าต่าง ๆ ก่อนที่จะกดชัตเตอร์เพื่อให้ได้ภาพออกมาในระดับที่พอดีไม่มืดหรือสว่างเกินไป แสงก็เป็นองค์ประกอบที่สำคัญในการถ่ายวิดีโอเช่นเดียวกัน แม้ว่าในปัจจุบันจะสามารถแก้ไขผ่านโปรแกรมตัดต่อได้สะดวกรวดเร็วขึ้น แต่ถ้าหากวิดีโอที่บันทึกมามีค่าแสงที่สว่างหรือมืดเกินไปก็จะทำให้สูญเสียรายละเอียดที่ต้องการในระหว่างตัดต่อแก้ไขไฟล์

‘False Color’ เป็นตัวช่วยในการวัดแสงของวิดีโอ ด้วยการแทนค่าความสว่างด้วยสีต่าง ๆ และแสดงผลบนหน้าจออย่างชัดเจน โดยค่ากลางจะเป็นแสงที่ใกล้เคียงกับที่ตามองเห็นซึ่งจะแสดงผลเป็นสีเทา ส่วนสีแดง สีเหลือง สีชมพู จะแทนค่าของความสว่างที่มากกว่าค่ากลาง สีเขียว สีฟ้า สีม่วง จะใช้แทนค่าแสงที่มืดกว่าค่ากลาง การตั้งค่า ‘False Color’ ก่อนถ่ายวิดีโอจะช่วยให้การวัดแสงแม่นยำขึ้น และสามารถเก็บรายละเอียดได้ครบถ้วนตามความต้องการ 

In the past, shooting with film cameras required a light meter to measure the light and set various parameters before pressing the shutter, ensuring the image was well-exposed, not too dark or too bright. Light is equally important in video production. While modern editing software allows for quick adjustments, capturing footage that is overly bright or dark can result in lost details during the editing process.

False Color is a valuable tool for measuring video exposure. It represents brightness levels using different colors, providing a clear visual display on the screen. The mid-range brightness is shown in gray, while bright areas are represented in red, yellow, or pink, and darker areas are indicated by green, blue, or purple. By setting up False Color before shooting, you can achieve more accurate exposure readings and ensure that all desired details are captured effectively.
